Crutcher has been involved with Triangle Volleyball Club since 2016, balancing coaching with her academic and professional commitments. We are excited to welcome her back to our coaching staff in 2024.
Her playing career at Triangle began in 2007 on 14 Black, and she was part of the first North Carolina 15s team (15 Black, 2008) to qualify for the Open division at USAV Junior Nationals. In 2011, Crutcher and Triangle 18 Black qualified again for the Open division, earning a 13th-place finish.
A 2011 graduate of Cary Academy, Crutcher went on to a standout four-year career at the University of Maryland. She earned All-ACC First Team honors as a freshman, Second Team honors as a sophomore, and was named an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American in 2012. Academically, she made the All-ACC Academic Team in 2012 and 2013 and the All-B1G Academic Team in 2014. Crutcher finished her indoor career ranked fifth all-time in school history with 1,342 kills. She graduated from Maryland in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology.
Crutcher then earned a master’s degree in teaching from UNC Wilmington, where she also competed on the inaugural NCAA beach volleyball team.
She taught physical education in Wake County Public Schools for four years before pursuing a second master’s degree in Sport and Fitness Administration/Management from Western Carolina University. During this time, she completed an administrative internship with the Patriot League and worked as an Operations Assistant with Duke Football.
Currently, Crutcher serves as an Administrative Specialist for the Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes at NC State University.
