Maynard is original from Houston, Texas where he began playing volleyball in middle school. At Houston Volleyball Academy, Maynard played across the net at the outside hitter, middle blocker and right side hitter positions. Maynard attended University of Texas at San Antonio where he played on the men’s club volleyball team, attending the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation National Championships each year.
Maynard graduated UTSA with a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science.
