Pazo joins Triangle from Dallas, Texas where she most recently head coached Madfrog’s 14 National Green team at the Open level.
Pazo was born in Caracas, Venezuela and played indoor for the Venezuelan national team as a junior player. After high school she was recruited to University of Texas-Arlington where she played for two seasons before transferring to Rice University. Pazo played predominantly on the right side and earned All-WAC First Team and Academic all-WAC honors her junior season. Her senior season, Pazo was named the Owl’s Most Outstanding Player and honored as a 2005 AVCA All-American Honorable Mention recipient.
After graduating Rice with B.S. in Kinesiology in 2006, Pazo played professional indoor volleyball in Spain for three seasons. She moved to beach volleyball where she competed on the AVP and FIVB tours. She and her partner’s success earned them a top 25 rank in the FIVB World beach volleyball rankings. In 2016, Pazo was selected to represent her native country Venezuela on the beach volleyball team at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janiero.
Pazo started coaching in Miami, leading both club and a varsity high school team. She moved to Dallas in 2011 and began coaching at Texas Image for four seasons where she led her team to two 14 Open qualifications. She went to Instinct VBC in 2018, also leading her 14’s team to an open qualification. She later joined perennial powerhouse Madfrog was named the head coach of their top 14s team from 2022-2024. In each season she led her team to an Open qualification for USAV Girls’ Junior Nationals and won Triple Crown in (2022 and 2024). Her teams had impressive finishes at nationals, 5th in 2022 and 3rd in 2023, and 5th in 2024.
Pazo and her husband reside in Cary with their two children Sofia and Liam.
SIGNIFICANT PLAYING ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
- Division I recruit who played as a pin hitter for two seasons at University of Texas Arlington and two seasons at Rice University.
- 2005 AVCA All-American Honorable Mention
- Professional volleyball career both indoor (Spain) and beach (AVP and FIVB).
- Selected to the Venezuela Beach Olympic team for the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janiero
SIGNIFICANT COACHING ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
- Qualified 14 Open in 2022 and 2023 with Madfrog 14 National Green
- Triple Crown Sports NIT 14 Open Champions, 2022 and 2024
- Earned 5th, 3rd and 5th place finishes at USAV Girls’ Junior National Championships (2022, 2023, and 2024 respectively)
