Kaleena Davidson

Youth Team Program Coordinator

Davidson (Walters) brings to Triangle a rare blend of elite-level playing expertise, proven coaching success across collegiate and club levels, and a deep commitment to athlete development—both on and off the court.

Davidson had a remarkable collegiate career as Penn State’s starting libero from 2002 to 2005. She set multiple digging records, including the all-time career digs leader (1,957), top three single-season dig marks, and the single-match record with 44 digs against Minnesota on October 2, 2004. Her performance earned her the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year award in 2005, AVCA Honorable Mention All-American honors that same year, and two First-Team All-Big Ten selections. During her playing tenure, Penn State compiled a stellar 116-19 overall record and captured three Big Ten championships.

Davidson began her collegiate coaching career  in 2007 serving two seasons as an assistant coach at the College of Charleston. Her leadership helped guide the cougars to two Southern Conference regular-season titles, the 2007 conference tournament crown, and an NCAA Tournament appearance. During that time, she developed six all-conference players, coached two Freshmen of the Year, and played key roles in recruiting, player development, match management, and program logistics.

Davidson returned to her alma mater from 2009 to 2013 as an assistant coach contributing to three national championships and four additional Big Ten titles. Her recruiting acumen helped the Nittany Lions secure the nation’s top signing class in 2014, which included the No.-1 recruit in the country, Haleigh Washington.

Beyond collegiate ranks, Davidson continued nurturing talent at the grassroots level serving as a club coach, recruiting coordinator, director and mentor at Colorado Juniors from 2021 until her move to North Carolina in 2025. Davidson’s club team achieved numerous USAV Jr. Nationals qualifications with her most recent coaching experience at the 17 Open level, with CoJrs 17 Kaleena.

In addition to her coaching credentials, Kaleena earned a master’s degree in higher education in 2015 from Penn State and has served in various academic advising roles at Penn State and the U.S. Air Force Academy.
