Abbott brings over a decade of coaching experience to Triangle Volleyball Club, where he has served since 2015 working with athletes across all age divisions from 12U to 18U. He has held head coaching roles at both Trinity Academy of Raleigh (3 years) and Millbrook High School (2 years), and has supported the boys’ program as a resource coach. Abbott currently serves as an Assistant Director at Triangle.
A Raleigh native, Abbott is a graduate of Sanderson High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Liberty University. While at Liberty, he was a defensive specialist/libero on the men’s club volleyball team from 2011 to 2014 and began his coaching career as a volunteer with the Heart of Virginia Volleyball Club’s 15U national team. He resides in Raleigh with his wife and family.

- 2023 NAC6 High School Coach of the Year (Undefeated 10-0 in conference)
- 2022:Â Led Millbrook to the 2022 4A NCHSAA State Championship with a 29-1 record
- 2022 North Carolina Volleyball Coaches Association 4A Coach of the Year recipient
