Christa Burns

 

Burns, a Raleigh native and former Triangle player, competed as a middle blocker from her 15U through 17U seasons, finishing her club career with Triangle 17 Blue. As a homeschool student-athlete, she played in the NCHEAC, helping her team win state championships in both her junior and senior seasons. She earned MVP honors in 2019 and was named All-Conference from 2017 to 2019.

Choosing to forgo collegiate play, Burns attended the University of North Carolina–Greensboro, where she graduated magna cum laude in May 2023 with a B.A. in Communication Studies. While at UNCG, she played for the Women’s Club Volleyball team, coached the Men’s Club Volleyball team from 2020 to 2023, and served as the men’s club team president in 2023.

Burns began coaching in 2016, working with elementary through high school athletes at New Life Camp until 2022. She has also served as both a resource and assistant coach for Triangle’s girls’ and boys’ programs. She currently works as a retail associate at Dick’s House of Sport while pursuing a career in communications.
