Sipes (Cary) was born and raised in Indianapolis before moving to Charlotte in eighth grade. She played setter on the varsity team at Hickory Ridge High School for three years, earning All-Conference honors as a senior. Her junior club career began at age nine with Circle City Volleyball Club, and after relocating to Charlotte, she competed for multiple area clubs as both a setter and defensive specialist.
After high school, Sipes attended William Peace University, where she played all four years as a setter, defensive specialist, and libero. She earned Academic All-Conference honors each year, was named Senior Student-Athlete of the Year, and served as team captain in her senior season.
Sipes brings extensive coaching experience at the middle school, high school, and junior club levels. Most recently, she was the head coach at CJV and also returned to her high school alma mater as JV Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach. She has coached with Lake Norman VBC, Hickory Ridge Middle School, Raleigh Volleyball, and JOCO One Volleyball Club, primarily working with high school athletes.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from William Peace University and a Master’s degree in Strategic and Organizational Communication from Queens University of Charlotte. Sipes currently works as a Social Media and Web Content Specialist at BMC/Builders First Source.
