Triangle teams find success in region, DC, and Chicago

Presidents’ Day Weekend saw sixteen teams on the road; four teams in Chicago at the Presidents’ Day Challenge and twelve at Capitol Hill Classic in Washington, DC. Also, the eastern side of the state was able to hold their regional tournaments and we had several teams competing.

Carolina Region: unfortunately 13’s was cancelled but 14 Steel played in 14’s at Triangle and we were able to get 14 Silver placed in 15’s at Triangle. The kids responded great with 14 Steel and 14 Silver both emerging from pool play into bracket and ultimately to the finals. 14 Steel finished in 2nd place and 14 Silver ended up winning the 15’s tournament.

The Presidents’ Day Challenge is hosted by Sports Performance [IL] and has a field comprised of many JVA [non-USAV] teams that we don’t often compete against until AAU’s Junior Nationals. Clubs considered amongst the strongest in the country converge in Chicago for three days of intense competition. From start to finish each match is very competitive.
