Johnson, a Triangle alumna (2014), is returning to the Triangle staff after graduating from the University of Mount Olive with a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy. A four-year starter at UMO, Johnson earned numerous accolades including All-Conference honors, multiple Conference Player of the Week awards, and several Student-Athlete of the Week recognitions. She was named MVP in 2015 and received the Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award. Johnson also earned Academic All-Conference honors all four seasons.
In high school, Johnson was a standout athlete at North Raleigh Christian Academy, where she was named MVP in back-to-back seasons, selected to the 2011 NCISAA All-State team, and honored as the 2011 TISAC Player of the Year.
Johnson is excited to rejoin Triangle as a staff member and is eager to share the valuable lessons she learned as an athlete. She has worked with multiple camps and clinics this summer and looks forward to coaching a team during the 2019 club season.
“The discipline I developed at Triangle helped me balance athletics and academics throughout college and continues to guide me in my professional life. I look forward to helping student-athletes build the on-court skills necessary for their collegiate journeys. Triangle was integral in preparing me for success, and I hope to play a role in helping young athletes grow through a sport I love.”
Johnson currently works as an instructor at the Mariposa School and resides in Durham.
