Brooks grew up in a volleyball family in Hickory, North Carolina. A standout at Fred T. Foard High School, she earned both Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year honors during her career. Her club experience included stints with Carolina Select, IC Stars, Lake Norman, and three final seasons with Carolina Union Volleyball Club (CUVC) as an outside hitter/defensive specialist. In 2016, she helped CUVC 17 Premier finish 16th in the AAU Girls’ Junior Nationals (17 Premier division).
Brooks was recruited to play at Catawba College (DII), where she competed in indoor volleyball for all four years and joined the beach volleyball team her senior year. While at Catawba, she began her coaching career, working positional and team camps with Player’s Edge VBC, serving as an assistant coach with CUVC, and contributing to the Lake Norman “LIFT” program for youth player development.
She graduated from Catawba College in 2021 with a B.S. in Accounting and Information Technology and went on to earn her Master of Accounting from NC State University in 2022. Brooks currently works as an audit associate at Johnson Lambert, LLP.
