Christensen brings over 30 years of playing and coaching experience to the court. She began coaching in 2004 and has led teams at both the high school and club levels, including Cardinal Gibbons JV (2004–2008), Triangle Volleyball Club (2011–2013), and nearly a decade of additional club coaching. Most recently, she has focused on training middle school athletes and fostering strong fundamentals.
As a player, Christensen (Spencer) played varsity at Cardinal Gibbons High School, helping her team capture back-to-back state championships in 1999 and 2000. She earned all-conference and all-state honors both seasons before continuing her career at UNC Chapel Hill, where she competed for four years with the women’s club team.
Outside of volleyball, Christensen works as Senior Director of Clinical Operations at Ollin Biosciences, Inc. She and her husband, Chad—also a Triangle coach—also stay busy raising their three sons.
