NCAA Men's Volleyball Coaches to lead camp

Triangle Volleyball is excited to announce its second annual Boys Collegiate High Performance Camp.

Triangle will host its annual Boys’ Collegiate High Performance Camp led by NCAA college coaches Derek Sullivan (Head Coach, Belmont Abbey College), Peter Stewart (Assistant Coach, Belmont Abbey College), and J.T. Deppe (Head Coach, Barton College).

DETAILS:

  • Who: male athletes who are rising 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th graders*. It is strongly recommended that participants have some volleyball experience both training and competition.
  • Location: Triangle’s Wake Competition Center facility, 121 Competition Center Drive
  • When: Wednesday, July 24th, 9am-4pm (lunch from 12-1pm*)
  • Cost: $135 per athlete and includes a camp t-shirt.
  • Athletes must provide their own lunch. There is an option for athletes to pre-order from the WCC Cafe.
*To be NCAA compliant the following is in effect for this camp:
  • There are no exceptions to the grade levels listed.
  • Camp is open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender) and does not rely on club or middle/high school affiliation.

ABOUT THE COACHES:

Head Coach Derek Sullivan is in his second season as head coach of the Belmont Abbey men’s volleyball team, after being elevated from assistant coach in 2021. Sullivan is also a former stand-out setter, playing for Belmont Abbey during his college career. He ranks second all-time in assists. After his collegiate career, he spent time playing professionally before returning to Belmont Abbey to coach. Belmont Abbey finished 21-5 on the 2024 season, with a 13-1 record in conference, and were one of the eight teams to compete in the 2024 NC Men’s Volleyball Championship.

Peter Stewart is the assistant coach at Belmont Abbey that helped lead the Crusaders to their regular season and conference tournament championship in 2024. Peter also played for Belmont Abbey, Florida State, and finally Tusculum during his graduate year.

Head Coach J.T. Deppe became the head coach for Barton College in 2023. He was also a standout player for the Barton Tornadoes before becoming a graduate student and volunteer assistant for King University women’s volleyball program.
