An exciting partnership has emerged between perennial powerhouse clubs, A5 [Atlanta], Orlando/Tampa Volleyball Academy [OTVA] and Triangle to begin a new elite-level pre-national tournament named Southern Exposure. The idea was born from long-standing club-to-club collaborations and the need for an elite level event prior to national championships in mid-June through early July. This event will serve to fill the large void of competition between the national qualifying and national championship events.

"We are excited to work with A5 and OTVA to bring an open-level event to the south," stated Sherry Fadool, Triangle's Executive Director and JVA Executive Board Member. "The JVA Challenge series has been incredibly successful in expanding events in the country and offering high caliber competition."

Southern Exposure will be held May 30-31 in Atlanta at the Georgia International Convention Center. This weekend also begins the recently reworked NCAA Division I recruiting schedule.

The event is sanctioned by the Junior Volleyball Association [JVA] and is part of the popular JVA Challenge Series. Registration for the event is available in AES.

Friday, December 6, 2019 | Retreat Day

Triangle hosted it's 17th annual Retreat Day which offered student-athletes and coaches the opportunity to connect, create, inspire and prepare for the season's journey ahead. Matthew Schwab of "Matthew Schwab Speaks" was the keynote speaker addressing the crowd of over 400 athletes, coaching staff, and administrators. Matthew highlighted his life's journey, after being born with Down Syndrome, to persevere and achieve education, employment, and opportunity. Matthew stood as a shining example to all present of determination in the face of overwhelming and lifelong obstacles to independent living, inclusion, and being a valued contributor to society.

Athletes engaged in a variety of off-court and on-court activities designed to connect players and coaches as well as set priorities and standards for the season ahead. A club-wide art project entitled "Uniquely Triangle" was created which involved a large and colorful thumbprint filled with small cubed letters placed by each athlete to spell out their first name (or nickname). The core values of our mission where also included in the art piece. The artwork will be displayed at Triangle's facility in the Wake Competition Center.

Friday, December 6, 2020 | Media Day - Canes announce their agreement with the WCC to serve as their permanent practice facility. The Canes currently hold less than 25 practices per season at their current practice facility. With the state-of-the-art facilities at the WCC the Canes plan to hold all practices, except those on game days, at the WCC. How exciting!!! We are thrilled to welcome the Hurricanes organization to the WCC.
