The Wisconsin Badgers and Penn State Nittany Lions will face off in the 2013 Women's Volleyball Division I Championship Match. Katie Slay '10 helped lead the Nittany Lions to an impressive 3-0 sweep of number three seeded Washington in the semi-final match. Haleigh Nelson '12 and the Badgers toppled the reigning National Champions and number one seeded Texas Longhorns in a 3-1 semi-final. Wisconsin and Penn State will play Saturday, December 21st at 9:30 PM EST and can be viewed on ESPN2.
Be sure to catch the 9th Annual Triangle Alumnae Match, Sunday, December 29th at 6:00 PM. Triangle alums from the past 11 years will take on the Senior Class of 2014 in a best 2 out of three showdown at Triangle. The Alumnae took home the trophy last year, will they be able to capture it again?
Congratulations to Triangle Alums Jill Edwards (Class of 2010), Katie Slay (Class of 2010) and Madi Bugg (Class of 2012) on their outstanding accomplishments this season. Madi Bugg was named to the 2013 AVCA Division I Second Team All-America and PAC-12 Setter of the Year. Jill Edwards was named to the AVCA Divison II Honorable Mention All-America Team and the Capital One Divison II Academic All-America First Team with a 3.58 GPA. Along with leading her team to the Final Four, Katie Slay was named AVCA Division I Third Team All-America and the Capital One Division I Academic All-America of the Year with a 3.64 GPA.

Triangle introduced its 2014 teams at its 12th Annual Signing Night Celebration. After a record breaking tryout with 632 athletes, Triangle will have 27 teams total; 26 junior girls and 1 junior boys. This will be the first time Triangle hosts a junior boys team. For the 2014 junior club season Triangle has assembled a team consisting of 75 talented, experienced, and knowledgeable coaches committed to delivery of Triangle's mission to "educate the whole person through excellence in the sport of volleyball." These highly qualified individuals will lead the development of student-athletes on 28 junior club teams including Triangle's first ever boys team. Triangle announced today the expansion of its Globe Center facility. At 30K+ square feet, the expanded facility will boast 7 courts, a dedicated fitness area, classroom, administrative offices, and larger spectator space.
Triangle Volleyball Club is among five (5) finalists for the National Council of Youth Sports [NCYS] S.T.R.I.V.E. award. The STRIVE award [Sports Teach Respect, Initiative, Values, and Excellence] recognizes youth sports organizations that put the safety, health, and well-being of its athletes at the forefront of its program. The winner is determined by online voting. Individuals can cast votes daily, August 30 through September 30. The STRIVE award winner receives $5000 and an awards presentation in their home town.
Triangle's Fall programming kicks off on September 8th. Also released is the tryout schedule for the 2014 club season. Fall programs include YVP, Classic and Xtreme clinics, PowerCore360 [NEW PC360 LIVE!], Setting Academies (TSA & TSA advantage), and JUMP+PACT.
In addition Triangle is hosting several FREE open gyms, clinics, and an Open House in advance of club tryouts. [FREE FALL PROGRAMS]
NEW for FALL 2013 Triangle will offer HIGH SCHOOL BOYS OPEN GYMS (Free) as well as YVP For Boys Only. Both are held on Sundays, September 8-October 13.

Triangle thanks the 700+ athletes who attended the 2013 summer camps. With 125 camp options providing over 800 hours of training the 2013 Summer Camp Program was the most successful in Triangle's history. Good luck to all participants as many of them are competing in the middle and high school seasons. Fall programs are posted and open for registration.
