Amaya Rousseau

Rousseau, a former Triangle player (2010-2012) and member of Wakefield High School’s 2013 NCHSAA state championship team, returns to Triangle to continue to pursue her love of volleyball.

Rousseau was a four-year middle blocker at Radford University. She earned Big South All-Conference Second Team and VaSID All-State Second Team honors her sophomore year. Rousseau was a key contributor to Radford's 2017 Big South Conference Championship season and the Highlanders NIT sweet 16 run made in her senior year. Her career at Radford has Rousseau standing third in school history in block assists and fifth in total number of blocks.

Also at Radford, Rousseau was active in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee becoming president her junior year. Her leadership led to her being nominated by Radford’s Senior Women Administrators to participate in the NCAA/Women Leaders in College Sports Women's Leadership Symposium. The symposium is developed for women aspiring to or just beginning a career in intercollegiate athletics.

While at Radford, Rousseau coached in clinics and summer camps. She also volunteered as an assistant in her spring season of her senior year with the women’s varsity team.

Rousseau graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor’s in Business Marketing and lives in Raleigh.
