Kristina Graven

Graven originally hails from San Jose, California, and moved to North Carolina for the master of occupational therapy graduate program at UNC Chapel Hill. She brings extensive high-level experience as a player and coach, especially at the outside hitter position where she excelled in prep and collegiate play. Graven played for Vision Volleyball Club and helped her team earn a bronze medal at USAV Junior Nationals her junior and senior year. She then began her collegiate career at Cal Poly before transferring to Saint Mary's College of California for her junior and senior year. While at Saint Mary's she earned AVCA Honorable Mention All-American honors, Saint Mary's Senior Scholar Athlete Award, and first team all-conference. Upon graduation Graven played at Northumbria University in Newcastle, England, on their university and semi-professional team.  

Graven's coaching experience includes numerous camps and clinics at Cal Poly, Saint Mary's, and Archbishop Mitty High School (her alma mater). She also served as the assistant coach of the boys 14-1 team at Bay to Bay Volleyball Club during the 2013 season. During her time at Triangle, she has served as both a head and assistant coach for 13s, 15s, 16s and 18s teams.

SIGNIFICANT PLAYING ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

  • Graven earned AVCA Honorable Mention All-America honors at Saint Mary's her senior season
  • Named the Saint Mary's Senior Scholar Athlete Award recipient and a first team all-conference selection at Saint Mary's
  • Competed at Northumbria University in Newcastle, England on their university and semi-professional team following her NCAA career
  • Guided her Vision Volleyball Club team to a bronze medal at USAV Junior Nationals her junior and senior year of high school

SIGNIFICANT COACHING ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

  • Graven served as the 2018 Triangle 18 Black assistant coach, and helped guide them to four [4] top 10 finishes at national tournaments
  • Mentored two USA Junior National team members and future NCAA Division I outside hitters on Triangle 18 Black in 2018 - Ade Owokoniran, [Duke] and Destiny Cox, [UNC]
  • Helped 2019 Triangle 15 Black to a 7th place finish in 15 Open at the Northeast Qualifier
