Lauren Tharrington '17

Tharrington, a member of Triangle's class of 2017, joins the coaching staff starting with the 2020 season. She spent eight club seasons in a Triangle uniform as a setter and competed on teams at the Black, Blue and White level. She helped set her 2016 17 White team to a runner-up finish at the Big South Qualifier and a top 20 finish at AAU Junior Nationals.

Following her club career, Tharrington played collegiately at Converse College in South Carolina. She is currently ranked 2nd in the Converse record books in career assists and in the top 10 for career aces. In 2019 she helped the Valkyries qualify for the Conference Carolinas championship tournament for the first time since 2013. She is also an Academic All-Conference selection and helped the volleyball team win the Converse Cup for the team that completes the most community service hours.

Tharrington began coaching camps & clinics at Triangle during the summer following the completion of her club playing career, and has continued to lead day camps, YVP and setting clinics during the summer. While at Converse she coached with Upward Stars volleyball, where she worked as a head coach with 13s, 14s and 15s age groups.
