Samantha Perillo

Perillo is originally from Wilmington, Delaware and recently relocated to the RTP area. Perillo has been playing volleyball since she was five years old and has competed at the high school, club and Division III collegiate level. At Wilmington Friends High School she played varsity for four seasons for the Quakers under head coach Barbara Trinsey. Perillo was named Second Team All-State as a sophomore, junior and senior, and she helped the team earn the Barbara Vierra Sportsmanship Award all four years. She played club volleyball for Brandywine Volleyball Club and was recruited to Division III Stevenson University in Maryland. Perillo had a decorated career as a four-year starting libero at Stevenson, including being named the ECAC Defensive Player of the Year and the Middle Atlantic Conference Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2015. She was a 2015 NCAA Woman of the Year nominee and a three-time AVCA Division II Honorable Mention All-America honoree and a three-time All-Commonwealth Conference First Team selection.

After completing her indoor eligibility, Perillo spent two years competing on the Stevenson University’s Beach Volleyball varsity team, from 2016-2017, while completing graduate school.  She then moved into coaching, becoming the Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach at Stevenson from 2017 until 2019. Perillo graduated from Stevenson in 2014 with a B.S. in Business Communications and completed her M.S. in Communications Sciences in 2017.
