Tonya Holmes

Holmes hails from south Florida where she was a multi-sport athlete in high school. Among her accolades she helped to lead her women's basketball team to a state title. Collegiately, Holmes played one year at Savannah State University before transferring to the University of Central Florida. At UCF Holmes played club volleyball and coached at Orlando Volleyball Association (formerly OVA).

Holmes graduated with a bachelor's degree in history and previously served as Varsity head coach and assistant Athletic Director at Saint Mary’s School in Raleigh and Residential Director of Operations at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Holmes joined Triangle in 2011 and has served as an assistant coach at the 14s, 16s, 17s, and 18s age groups. Most recently, she helped to lead 18 Blue to qualify for USAV nationals in the 2018 season. 

Holmes currently lives in Raleigh and serves as the Director of Student Engagement and assistant varsity volleyball coach at Cardinal Gibbons High School.
