Triangle Sets Record with 11 Teams Qualified for Girls’ USA Volleyball Junior National Championships

May 5, 2026

Triangle Volleyball Club is proud to announce that a record-setting 11 teams have earned qualification for the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championships this season—the most in club history and the highest total ever achieved by any club in the Carolina Region.

For teams across the country, qualifying for USAV Nationals represents the pinnacle of the junior club season. The pathway is intentionally rigorous. Earning a bid into one of the championship divisions places teams into a selective, highly competitive field designed to deliver a truly unique national championship experience at the highest level of the sport.

Triangle teams pursued qualification through two primary avenues: competing at national qualifying tournaments and earning bids through the Carolina Region’s competitive allocation process. Both routes demand consistency, resilience, and the ability to perform under pressure against elite competition.

Triangle 15 Black set the tone early, earning the club’s first bid with a second-place finish in the Open division at the Northeast Qualifier in Philadelphia. At the Big South National Qualifier in Atlanta, three teams battled through demanding three-day battles to secure bids: 16 Blue (USA division, 4th place), 17 Black (Open division, 3rd place), and 17 Blue (USA division, 4th place).

The Carolina Region’s bid process considers performance across USAV-sanctioned events throughout the season. The Region awards one bid each per age level in the National, American and Freedom divisions in which the team with the most points receives the National bid and so on. Triangle teams earning bids through this pathway include 13 Black (National), 14 Black (National), 16 Black (National), 16 White (American), and 17 White (American). USAV divisions are intentionally controlled in size to ensure competitive balance, with divisions ranked from most to least competitive as follows: Open, National, USA, Liberty, American, and Freedom.

“We recognize that athletes, coaches, and families are seeking a national championship experience defined by elite-level play, a high-energy atmosphere, and a destination that feels special,” said Sherry Fadool, Executive Director of Triangle Volleyball Club. “While many of our athletes have enjoyed competing at AAU Nationals over the years, there is a growing desire for the USAV experience—one that is distinguished by its selective qualification process, controlled division sizes, and the pageantry of a historically prominent national championship event.”

Triangle’s success on the national stage is already underway. Both 18 Black and 18 Blue recently completed exceptional runs at the national championships in Reno, with each team earning an impressive 5th-place finish in their respective divisions (National and American).

The journey continues as nine additional Triangle teams prepare to compete against the nation’s best later this season. 13 Black will travel to Minneapolis, while the remaining teams will compete in Indianapolis. Across both locations, teams will face an intense four-day tournament in pursuit of a national championship title.

This milestone reflects not only competitive success, but also the collective commitment of Triangle’s athletes, coaches, and families. From early-season training to high-pressure qualifying matches, each step has contributed to what is now a historic achievement for the club.

As Triangle Volleyball Club heads into the national spotlight with unprecedented representation, the focus remains the same: compete with purpose, represent the program with pride, and embrace the opportunity to perform on one of the sport’s biggest stages.

As our teams prepare to compete on the national stage both at USAV Nationals and AAU Nationals, we invite our community—families, alumni, supporters, and local partners—to be part of the journey. Follow team progress, share in their achievements, and help us celebrate this historic moment for Triangle Volleyball Club. Your encouragement, visibility, and support play a meaningful role in fueling our athletes as they compete against the very best in the nation.
