Our History & Mission

Our History

Founded in 2002, Triangle Volleyball quickly established itself as a leader in the sport in North Carolina.

In 2006, Triangle became the first club in North Carolina to open a dedicated volleyball facility—then home to six competitive teams. That same year, Triangle made history as the first Carolina Region team to win a national qualifier, when Triangle 18 Kaepa captured the 18 Open title at The Big South National Qualifier.

In 2014, Triangle expanded into boys’ volleyball, launching its first competitive team and growing the program to as many as seven teams. Committed to athlete wellness, Triangle’s club-wide emphasis on safety and injury prevention earned national recognition with the 2018 S.T.R.I.V.E. Award presented by the National Council of Youth Sports.

In 2024, Triangle reached new heights with two historic national titles: Triangle 18 Black claimed the Under Armour 18 Open Girls National Championship, while Triangle Boys 16 Black won the 16 Open division at AAU Boys’ Junior Nationals.

Approaching its 25th anniversary, Triangle has grown into a regional and national powerhouse, training more than 30 teams in its 8-court, state-of-the-art facility at the Wake Competition Center, which opened in 2019.
