Weathersbee is originally from Garner and joins Triangle with significant collegiate playing and coaching experience. Weathersbee, a four-time All-Conference high school setter from Garner Magnet High School, was recruited to Lees-McRae College. At Lees-McRae Weathersbee, a four-year starter, finished sixth on the Bobcats’ career assists list. She earned Dean’s List honors four times and was twice named to the Conference Carolina’s All-Academic team. Weathersbee graduated Lees-McRae in 2018 with a degree in sports administration and a minor in coaching.
While pursuing her master’s degree in human resource management at Marymount University, Weathersbee served as a graduate assistant for the Saints. At Marymount, Weathersbee was heavily involved in recruiting and specialized in setter training. During that time, she helped lead the Saints to two Atlantic East Conference championships and two NCAA Division III tournament appearances. While at Marymount Weathersbee also coached club for East Coast Power – DC.
Weathersbee’s collegiate coaching career continued when she served as a volunteer assistant at UNC-Wlimington (2020-2021) with both the indoor and beach programs. She also remained active in junior club, coaching both boys’ and girls’ teams at NC Coastal Volleyball Club. The following year she was hired as an assistant coach at Kings University (Bristol, TN) in 2021. Weathersbee returned to UNC-W in 2022-23 as a volunteer assistant where she has served until recently returning to the Triangle area.
SIGNIFICANT COACHING ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
- Graduate Assistant Coach – Marymount University. Recruiting support and setter training. Helped lead team to two conference championships and two NCAA tournament appearances.
- Assistant Coach – King University
- Volunteer Assistant Coach – UNC-Wilmington. Two stints, 2020-21 and 2022-23. Involved in both the indoor and beach programs.
