January 30-31, 2016-Hampton, Virginia
This past weekend was the first event of the 2016 Mid-Atlantic Power League [MAPL] season. What is exciting and especially challenging about MAPL [pronounced M-apple] is that it “concentrates” competition by combining age levels, using performance-based acceptance criteria, and power pooling teams. The format provides a two-day event with minimal travel [aka cost], no missed days of school, and solid and intensifying competition from start to finish. MAPL assembles the best clubs/teams from along the eastern seaboard into three (3) competitive divisions: BLACK [16-18’s], BLUE [14-16’s], and RED [13-14’s].
This past weekend Triangle teams were able to achieve an overall record of 60-39 [61%] with five [5] teams earning impressive top 10 finishes* in their respective divisions.
