Teams compete in Utah; Numerous top 10 finishes in DC

February 15, 2016: This weekend saw 20 Triangle teams competing in three-day Presidents’ Day events literally across the country in both Salt Lake City and Washington DC. There were many exciting matches, some great team moments both on and off the court, and many examples of perseverance, hard work, and sportsmanship. One look at our Instagram [@TriangleVBC] and you will see that these teams excelled on the court while also enjoying many wonderful moments off the court. Those two things, we believe, combine to create both the opportunity and value of the youth sports experience.
Six teams traveled to Salt Lake City for the Triple Crown Sports National Invitation Tournament. This event was one of the most competitive club events in recent history with national powers like T Street, Vision, Texas Advantage, Munciana, KIVA, A5, and Arizona Storm.
All teams were competitive in their age groups and many matches were decided in 3 exciting sets. Triangle had some exciting comeback wins including 17 Blue reversing a 10-14 deficit to beat NPJ [Oregon] in 3; 16 Black coming back from an 8-13 deficit to defeat Long Beach Mizuno 20-18 in the 3rd, and 15 Black coming back from 0-6 in the third to beat Club V [Utah] and shut down the gym late Sunday night.

The fifteen teams that attended CHC did an amazing job competing and representing our mission. Looking at the results below one can see the depth of talent on our teams; from 12 to 17’s and Black to Steel our teams were very competitive in a diverse field including teams from New England, the eastern seaboard, and beyond. There were 14 top ten finishes and the club collected an overall record of 105-25 [80+%]. Incredibly nearly every team finished in the top 10. Check it out below as the results speak for themselves.
